To alleviate tension and disputes that have occured on this
messageboard, I hearby recommend that we split letterboxing.org into
several small groups. My suggestions:
www.MissingLetterboxing.com - for those that want to look for
letterboxes that are not really there.
www.Drivebyletterboxing.com - for those that like letterboxing at
McDonald's
www.Farfarawayletterboxing.com - for those hard core letterboxers
www.Showdownletterboxing.com - for those that would like to remove
another letterboxer from existence
www.Newbieletterboxing.com - for those that have been in letterboxing
less than 10 years
www.ExposedLetterboxing.com - for those that like to letterbox in the
buff
Any additional suggestions would be grateful.

ROFL!
However, I take offense that I'm a newbie letterboxer (I've been boxing for
just over two years). I've found over 2000 letterboxes. I'm pretty sure that
I wouldn't be considered a newbie. In fact, wouldn't this mean that every
letterboxer in the United States, who didn't participate in England before 1998,
would be considered a newbie?????
LOL

This'll get a response I'm sure.............but here goes!!!
As we have been letterboxing (in one way or another) for 150years here in England, anyone not native to our small island should be considered a newbie !!! lol
Now i'll just sit back and wait for the proverbial to hit the fan ! lol

When I started at my current job one co worker was particularly glad to see
me come on board. He shook my hand and proclaimed that I was now the new guy.
The new guy is supposed to get all the unpleasant assignments. He told me that
a person is the new guy until a new new guy is hired. Since no one had been
hired for two years he had been the new guy for a long time. Unfortunately for
him while I was the new new guy he had been the new guy for so long he was
referred to as the old new guy as still got stuck with a lot of crap. I was good
at hiding and everyone was used to dumping on him. If this seems like a
digression well maybe too much emphasis is being placed on tenure.
(the real term we used for new guys was changed slightly here as this seems
to be a family channel, any Vets out there?)

Around here, no one should dump unwarrantedly on the new guy.
However the new guy should realize that the "tenured" just might
have a little more experience and be willing to listen to what they
have to say. This doesn't meant that a new guy can't have a good new
idea. All too often though, a new guy thinks s/he has a new idea but
it is instead an old discarded idea. If new folks have what they
believe are new ideas, they should be free to bring them up as long
as they are willing to take criticism OR praise as the case may be.

list (group), I was under the impression that it was for the exchange of
ideas, news of interest etc. That is what's said on the group's home
page. Thanks for any help I can receive. floyd

to all our problems Replyto: letterbox-usa@yahoogroups.com
Around here, no one should dump unwarrantedly on the new guy.
However the new guy should realize that the "tenured" just might
have a little more experience and be willing to listen to what they
have to say. This doesn't meant that a new guy can't have a good new
idea. All too often though, a new guy thinks s/he has a new idea but
it is instead an old discarded idea. If new folks have what they
believe are new ideas, they should be free to bring them up as long
as they are willing to take criticism OR praise as the case may be.

Did you go to any of those locations? They are a good place to
start, especially for such a basic question as you have posed.
Or am I being gullible again and falling for the 'gottcha' posts?
One thing I am learning on these posts is how to spell . . . have to
type with the dictionary open . . .the rest of the misspellings are
typos.
